Antonio G. “Tony” Limón, 71, was born May 10, 1951, in Tucson, Arizona, and raised by Carmen and Santos Limón. He passed away on November 19, 2022, in Tucson, Arizona, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
A life-long resident of Tucson, Tony grew up and went to school at Borton, Holladay, and Government Heights Elementary Schools before moving on to Safford Junior High. He graduated from Tucson High School and attended Pima Community College.
On September 1, 1973, Tony married his high school sweetheart, Delia Carranza. Tony and Delia made their home in Tucson where they raised their two kids, Marco “T” and Amanda.
Professionally, Tony worked for Barrows Furniture Company, Maya Construction Company, and Tucson Office Supply. He frequently filled the role of truck driver, but he was also a crafty carpenter.
Antonio enjoyed sports, music, and hunting in his free time. He played and/or coached baseball, semi-pro baseball, slow-pitch, mush ball, basketball, football, boxing, and karate. He coached and became President of Randolph Little League where he met lifelong friends. His love for music began as a young boy when he played the guitar in the “Tiny Mights,” and he also played the saxophone in the high school band. Later in life, Tony became a D.J. and played at various functions such as weddings, birthdays, etc., and he also managed Mariachi Reyes. A devout Catholic, Tony was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.
Most importantly, Tony loved his family. He was a beloved husband, father, tata, brother, uncle, friend, coach, and manager who always reminded everyone to “Kick ass and take names!”
Survivors include his loving wife, Delia; son, Marco “T” (Jaime); daughter, Amanda (DJ); son, LeRon (Gloria); grandkids, Stella (Juan), Tanisha (Ruben), LeRon Jr. “Buggy”, Lorenzo, Janessa, Jackie, and Panchito; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Yolanda and Terry; and his brother, Gasper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmen and Santos Limón, and his brothers, Santos Jr., David, and Ruben Limón.
A Rosary will be led at 9:30am on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, 1220 S 6th Avenue in Tucson, Arizona. Mass will immediately follow at 10:00am.
