Carol Arlene Schrecker, 90, of Surprise, AZ, died March 21, 2025. The daughter of the late Alfred and Edna Mae Foeks, she was born February 5, 1935, in Brackenridge, PA, and died at her home in Surprise AZ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, H. Dale Schrecker, and daughter, Karen Easley.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her children, Ken Schrecker and his wife, Sylvia, and Kathy Riley and her husband, Chris, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

As a young adult in the 1950s, she met her beloved husband, Dale, at a local dance in the Pittsburgh area. They were married for 63 years, including one year spent in Iceland while Dale served in the U.S. Army. A woman of warm generosity, she served as a local Girl Scout leader and loved cooking her famous spaghetti and meatballs and homemade apple pie for family and friends.

She was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and spent summer vacations with family camping, hiking, and picking blueberries along Maine’s rugged coast. A woman of deep Christian faith, she co-led monthly prayer breakfasts at North Phoenix Baptist Church after retiring to Arizona. Carol’s family surrounded her during the last week of her life at her residence in Surprise where she died peacefully.

Services will take place at 10:30 am, on April 15, at Grand Community Baptist Church, 18350 N. Goldwater Ridge Dr., Surprise, AZ 85374.
