Celia V. Betancourt

Celia Betancourt, our beloved Mother, passed away on August 27, 2024. Her fight with dementia is over. Her life touched many and she leaves a legacy of kindness, love and faith.

She was born November 7, 1928 in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1948 she met our Father, Pete Betancourt. He was truly her knight in shining armor. They were married August 13, 1948. He loved her deeply and was her constant and faithful companion until his death in 1999.

They lived in New Mexico until 1958. They purchased a home in Tucson in 1960. Our Mother remained in the home until her death. She refused to leave it even though she had offers from her children to live with them.

She is survived by her children; Mary (Eluterio), Ruben, Christine, Sally and Caroline, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Betancourt and daughter, Catherine Betancourt.

She had an amazing journey. She was loved deeply and will forever be in our hearts.
