Cruz "Maricruz" Torres

Cruz was born on April 11th, 1952, to David L. Torres and Josephina Soto-Torres, in Nogales, Sonora. On June 26th, 2023 Cruz gained her angel wings, with her family by her side.

Cruz grew up in Nogales with her family. After high school, she attended Chaparral College. It was then that she decided she wanted to become a teacher’s assistant. She was a dedicated teachers assistant at Utterback and Wakefield middle school in Tucson.

Cruz loved to sing to the Mariachis and was a very talented singer, she had a love for the Lord, and she used her voice to reach many at her church Agape Christian Fellowship. Most of all Cruz loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren and shared an unconditional love for them. Her unconditional love and beautiful smile will be missed.

Cruz is survived by her children, Pablo Torres, Jamie Torres, Lorenia Alaverez, Jose Torres, and Rosa Maria Sanders, her 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, her siblings Beatrice Gamez, Elizabeth Torres, Rosanna Andrade, Marisela Garcia, David Torres Jr., and Carlos Torres.
Cruz was preceded in death by her father David L. Torres, her mother Josephina, and her beloved big sister Norma Dorame.

Visitation will be held on Friday 07/07/2023 from 9 am to 12 pm at Sensible Cremation and Funerals 109 W Grant Rd. Tucson, Az 85705
