David Clinton Blunk was born March 24, 1952, in Camp Atterbury, Indiana, to James Robert and Betty Lou (Collins) Blunk. He passed away on July 12, 2022, in Tucson, Arizona, following a battle with cancer.
David grew up and went to school in Mooresville, Indiana. He went on to serve honorably in the US Air Force and then returned home to Indiana.
Dave was married to Meryle Anne Lowe in Indianapolis, and their marriage was blessed with 3 children: Nicole, Brice and Rebecca. Following a divorce, He married Karen McKee in Hall, Indiana. He was divorced at the time of his death.
Most of Dave’s life was spent in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he was proud to be an Indianapolis Police Officer until he retired. He then moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he worked for American Airlines until retiring again.
He loved the outdoors, motorcycles, airplanes, helicopters, his family, whom he adored, history and much more. A human encyclopedia, he was full of information and a great story teller! Dave was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Tucson, Arizona, and a previous member of the VFW in Mooresville, Indiana.
Survivors include his three children, Nicole Anne Blunk, Brice Alton Blunk, Rebecca Reynolds Mayo; siblings, Dean Blunk and Denise Ryan; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Viewing will take place on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 2-4pm, at Sensible Cremation and Funerals, 109 W Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4pm. Military funeral honors will be rendered at the service.
