Debbie Sue Slusser

August 21, 1961 — January 12, 2022

Debbie Sue Shankle Slusser went to meet the Lord on January 12, 2022. Sue was a 13 year cancer survivor who passed away after a brave battle for the last 6 months in hospitals and at home. She was a great inspiration to all that knew her and epitomised faithfullness and love as a mother, wife, and Christian. She is survived by her husband Gordon Allen Slusser, and her daughter Cheri Denise Slusser Nicholson, and Son-in-Law Dusty Aaron Nicholson as well as her 4 grandchildren, Sadie Elaine Nicholoson, Eli James Nicholson, Amalie Sue Nicholson , and Kasidy Ann Nicholson, all from Marana, AZ, and her Sister Carol Stelljes and brother David.

Sue was raised in an orphanage in Morrilton, Arkansas, attended Crowley's Ridge College and Harding University, and worked with her husband for several years at Children's homes in Arkansas, Georgia, and Texas. She also taught at Kindercare, Creme de la Creme, Bridges Child Care Centers in Mesa, Apache Junction, and Queen Creek and Harkins Day Care Center in Tucson, AZ. After her first battle with cancer, she went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education at the age of 48.
She also worked as an Art teacher at CAFA Charter School in Scottsdale AZ.

She will be sorely missed.
