Dennis Dominic Wasko Jr., 78 years old passed away on December 2, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona.
Dennis was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on April 24, 1946. The family moved from Iowa to Tucson. He grew up in Tri-Community of Mammoth, Arizona. Dennis was the first born out of five children.
He married Micaela Acedo Lopez, the love of his life in 1969. They lived in San Manuel, AZ, Kearney, AZ, Belen, NM, Hayden, AZ, Oracle, AZ and Tucson, AZ. They were married for 55 years. Dennis and Micaela have three daughters, Lisa (Gary) Wasko-Cothrun, Anita (Jeff) Cole, and Veronica (Jeremy) Hanley. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, Elena, Tanna, Alexis, Rianna, Aiden, Gavin, Brady and his recent additions Thiago and Felix.
Dennis loved everything sports related. He followed all University of Arizona Athletics and was an avid fan. One of his greatest loves was following his children and grandchildren through all of their sports endeavors. Throughout his life he was known as Coach to many young girls on the softball diamond and continued coaching middle school sports in Marana, AZ.
Dennis was passionate about life and always made sure those around him were taken care of.
Services will be held in Tucson, Arizona at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1300 N. Greasewood Rd. Tucson, AZ) on Tuesday, December 17, with visitation at 9:30 a.m., Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery (3555 N. Oracle Rd. Tucson, AZ) at 12:15 p.m. Luncheon to follow at Casino Ballroom (437 E. 26th St. Tucson, AZ).
