Diane Ercelle Blackshear

THE LIFE OF DIANE BLACKSHEAR

Diane Ercelle Blackshear of Toledo, Ohio passed away on March 14, 2025 at the age of 74. Diane was born on March 6, 1951 at Mercy Hospital. Diane attended Mnt. Pilgram Baptist Church, where she gave her life to Christ at an early age.

Diane was enrolled at Libbey High School, where she excelled in academics and track and field. In 1969, Diane married Charles R. Allen, and to this union Leesa Blackshear and LaTonya Allen were born.

Before entering the workforce, Diane attended Toledo University, where she majored in Political Science. Diane's extensive work history spanned over 60 years, leading her to work in the social services field, until her retirement in 2015.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Ruben Sr. and Sara Blackshear; brothers, Melvin and Gerald Jones; Walter, Joseph, Ruben Jr. and David Blackshear; and sisters, Ruth Jones and Pearl Russell.

Diane leaves to cherish her memory to her daughters, Leesa Blackshear and LaTonya Allen; seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews, cousins and many special family members and friends.
