Entered into eternal life on January 30, 2023. Predeceased by his spouse of 55 years Ann Vargas Duran, parents Raymundo Duran and Rosa Ochoa and a brother Raymond Duran (Olga). Survived by sons, Michael Duran(Cynthia), Richard Duran, granddaughter Monica Duran Keppler (Erich) and great granddaughter Elena Josephine Keppler.
Dad served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1945 - 1947 attaining the rank of Corporal and spent time at the end of World War II in France and Germany. He was decorated and cited with the WWII Victory Medal.
He began his working career in Tucson as a journeyman welder eventually moving to Los Angeles, California where he worked for McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. He finished his working years at the Vista Del Mar School in Los Angeles, retiring and returning to Tucson.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers that cared for Dad at the VA hospital and especially the caring and compassionate staff of TMC Hospice and Pepsi’s House.
Dad will be interred at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Marana on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:00 am. Arrangements are made through Sensible Cremations and Funerals.
