Evangeline (Eve) Margaret Ozburn (Giersch) passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 82. She was born on November 02, 1941, in Salina, Kansas to Carl and Marguerite Giersch
Survived by her children Barry McCollum, Lori McCollum Stoddard, and Bretta Ozburn Bushy, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Giersch, her mother, Marguerite, her sister Mary, and brother Dennis.
She grew up in Salina and attended Sacred Heart High School. She married Billy Ray McCollum and together they had 2 children. Later she married Bill Ozburn and together they moved to Daingerfield, Texas, where they had a daughter, Bretta L’Von Ozburn.
Eve worked at Western Electric in her early years, was an avid seamstress, and entrepreneur. She owned a wedding apparel company, and later started a new career as a dog groomer; she had her own grooming shops, including The Clip Joint, and Pretty Pet Mobile grooming. Eve was also a licensed cosmetologist and opened a nail salon in Tucson.
As the oldest of eight children Eve grew up on a farm in Salina, Kansas and was proud to help alongside her father with chores such as bailing hay.
Eve loved dogs and had several loving companions including Professor, Homer, Riley and Gypsy.
She was a woman of strong will and fierce determination who never let life’s many obstacles stand in the way of her goals. Her strength and determination drove her.
