Franklin G. "Frank" Garrett, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. He was 83 years old.
Born on July 12, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, to Garland Garrett and Doris Brewer. Frank grew up in La Cañada in Southern California and attended John Muir High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1968, stationed at Point Loma, California, and Agana, Guam, as a Personnel Officer and a member of the 23rd Attack Squadron aboard the USS Ticonderoga. After his honorable discharge, Frank pursued higher education, earning a B.A. in Business Administration from CSU Northridge and later an MBA from National University.
In 1959, Frank married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Mullison, and together they built a beautiful life together in San Diego, California where he worked and retired as a Personnel Administrator. After Frank's retirement, they relocated to Foresthill, California, where they enjoyed their golden years amidst the splendor of the Placer County foothills.
Following Sandra's passing, Frank moved to Tucson to be closer to his twin sister, Judy. He remained actively involved in his community, church, and local organizations such as the American Legion, Desert Son Community Church, and the Sunflower Community.
Frank's passions were as vast as the California coast he loved. He relished the thrill of boating, waterskiing, and kayaking, and found solace in the quiet moments of faith-based service and outdoor grilling. He was a dedicated sports fan, always cheering for his favorite local teams with infectious enthusiasm.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by his son Jim Garrett, daughter Janet Nixon, and five grandchildren: Brittany, Tim, Michael, Ethan, and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Garrett
