Georgianna Benequista

Georgianna Benequista, age 81, passed away at the Sherwood Village Assisted Living facility in Tucson on August 29, 2022. Georgie was born in Cohoes, NY on August 19, 1941 to Louis and Ann Pilla. Growing up, Georgie was a self-described "daddy's girl", close with her brother Dewey, and a constant companion to her cousin Charlotte Gibbons. An outgoing and popular young woman, Georgie attended five proms in four years. After tragically losing her daughter Debra Ann to spina bifida, Georgie raised four boys, who were her pride and joy.

Georgie worked tirelessly to start a career late in life, eventually becoming a beloved part of Tucson's insurance broker community. Georgie was known for her compassion, her laugh, her flirtatious ways, and her dedication to her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons Anthony, David, Daniel and Nicholas, and by three grandchildren - Joseph Benequista, Miles Benequista, and Anna Benequista - whose bright futures owe immeasurably to the sacrifices Georgie made to her family.
