Former Owatonna resident, Harvey L. Grunwald passed away on March 2, 2020 in Tucson, AZ following a lengthy illness. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp towards the end of WWII and was then called back for Korea. He was deployed to China and often talked of his experiences there. Upon returning home, he married Mary Catherine Sauter in 1951, to this marriage, two daughters were born. Peggy in 1952, and Marcia in 1957, who died in infancy. Harvey became a licensed plumber, delivered bulk gas for Gulf, and operated a dog boarding kennel. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and raised many litters of good hunting dogs. Mary Grunwald passed away in 1991.
Harvey later married Florence (Buecksler)Grunwald in 1995. They shared time between Forest Lake, MN and Tucson, AZ and enjoyed retirement. He loved and was proud of his entire family.
Harvey is survived by h is wife Florence, his daughter Peggy (Ron) Kern, his stepdaughters Susan (Bruce) Bain, Wendy Grunwald, and Amy Brenny, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary, infant daughter, Marcia, 2 brothers Stuart Grunwald, Robert Grunwald, 2 sisters Lucille Pratt and Bette Marshall and infant step grandson.
A service will be held in Owatonna at a later date and will be announced at that time.
