It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Hortencia V. Salcido on March 17, 2023.
Hortencia "Tencha" Salcido was born September 7, 1937, in Redington, Arizona to loving parents Placido Valdez and Julia Vasquez. She grew up and went to school in this small town with her ten brothers and sisters.
At the age of 23 on June 24, 1961, she was joined in holy matrimony to Ramon C. Salcido in Tucson, Arizona. They stayed in Tucson and began a long and wonderful marriage that lasted almost 72 years. They soon started their family and had four beautiful children: Grace, Carol, Ramon, and Victor. She was a dutiful mother and homemaker who loved to cook. She enjoyed going to the horse races with her family, and always made time for her children. As she and her children got older, they loved going to the casino together.
She is survived by her children Grace, Carol, Ramon, and Victor, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, and three sisters.
She is predeceased by her parents, five brothers, and six sisters.
She will be missed by many.
Family and friends are invited to attend her services.
Mass will held at St. Margaret's Catholic Church at 10am.
