James Raymond Dolan, 84, of Tucson, AZ, passed away at home on Tuesday May 25, 2021. He was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and raised his family in Guttenberg, NJ before relocating to Tucson after his retirement, though his heart was always in NY. Known to family and friends as Jimmy, he served proudly in the US Marine Corps and then returned home for a lifelong career with the US Postal Service. He loved old movies, music, and dancing and never missed an opportunity to play the lottery. He will be remembered for his hand drawn cards for family and friends. He had a big voice, generous heart and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Marion Kaplinski, his children Elizabeth Cancian and husband Michael, Michael Dolan, Teresa Carter and husband Brian and Thomas Dolan and wife Damaris. He was the loving grandfather of Valerie, Andrea, Brendan, Daniel, Evan, Meredith and Keira. He is predeceased by Patricia Dolan, the mother of his children. A memorial service to celebrate his wonderful life will be arranged at a later date. To remember Jimmy, buy yourself a lottery ticket, he would like that.
