MSgt James Francis Morgan, age 86 of Zanesville, died 4:45 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Veterans Hospital in Tucson, AZ
James was born Friday, September 11, 1936, in Zanesville, OH, the son of James E. Morgan and Delcie J. (Singer) Morgan. He was married on Saturday, January 18, 1958, to Helen Marie Gilliam.
MSgt James F. Morgan joined the United States Air Force on January 6, 1956 and honorably served for 21 years until his retirement as MSgt on August 1, 1977. He served his fellow veterans as the Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 2 from 2001-2010. As a service officer for the DAV he provided counseling and services of benefits to disabled veterans to ensure all earned benefits were received. In 2009 he was recognized in the Presidential Who's Who for his dedication and success in helping other disabled veterans.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Morgan, one son; Michael Morgan; one daughter, Cassandra Morgan; three grandchildren, Monique Forman, Darius Burgess, Malcolm Burgess; and four great grandchildren; James, Lilly, Justice and Jahseh; two sisters Carolyn "Sue" Dickinson and Cynthia "Cinny" Martin with extended family including, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Robert L. Morgan and one sister, Marilyn D. Erskine.
