Janice Arlene (Frank) Scott was born on a farm near Laurel, Montana on August 9th, 1938. She was the only child of Jake and Esther Frank.
She attended elementary school in Laurel, Montana and graduated high school there. She attended Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated with a BA Degree in elementary education. She achieved a triple major of Bible, Christian Education, and Elementary Education.
After college she taught fourth and fifth grades for 17 years in the Anoka-Hennepin School District in Anoka, Minnesota which is a northern suburb of the Twin Cities.
She met her husband Vernon (Rick) Scott in Germany in 1964 where she taught dependent children of Air Force personal at Bitburg Air Force Base. She and Rick were married in Laurel, Montana on July 29th, 1966.
After moving from Anoka, Minnesota to Billings, Montana in 1981 she left teaching and pursued her interest and talent watercolor painting.
During this time, she worked for First Bank Systems in Billings. After 10 years she left the banking system to paint and teach watercolor painting.
She displayed and sold her art at the Sandstone Art Gallery in Billings, Montana. She and Rick started full time RVing in 2010. They camped in every state west of the Mississippi River and several east of the river.
In 2014 she and Rick settled in Tucson, AZ. They lived in Rincon Country West Resort community.
Jan passed away on May 9th, 2024. She deeply loved God, family, friends, neighbors, and her country. She is in Heaven healthy and happy.
