Jason Andres Bentley, or Jay Redwolf as he was known to many, was my beloved son. Jason was my best friend, and I absolutely adored him. He was born on June 26, 1983 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from PPEP TEC in Tucson, and went on to earn his Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of Arizona. When he died in a motorcycle accident on 10/17/23, he was back at PPEP TEC helping other struggling students. He was a counselor, a much loved teacher, and an inspiration and friend to many. He always helped other people in need.
Jason was an adventurer and traveled widely, including to Iceland, Finland, Norway, Mexico and South America, Transylvania, the Faeroe Islands and Easter Island, to name a few. Jason spoke several languages. He visited many countries and made lasting friendships every place he went. He was truly a free spirit and he did whatever made him happy. Jason was a great story teller and could make you laugh relating all the antics of himself and his friends. He loved animals and all creatures. He volunteered at a wolf sanctuary so he could be close to and study the wolves. He swam with sharks. He worked with horses and troubled youth at a boys ranch outside of Tucson. He worked for a time teaching people how to properly throw an ax. He left Tucson to travel, but he always returned.
Jason had been a professional tattoo artist and had many tattoos and piercings himself. His love of art led him to become an accomplished artist in various media and his love of language made him a poet.
Jason was an avid follower of Norse Mythology and the Viking culture. He lived on his sailboat, Elivagar, for two years in Florida. His motorcycle was Naglfar. He lived with his much loved cat, Loki, in a casita in the Catalina Foothills of Tucson where he was very happy teaching art and creating his art. Although he was only 40 when his personal saga was cut short, Jason had lived a very full and admirable life.
Jason was also a realist. He said when he died he didn’t want to be sick in bed, but on his motorcycle, because he was happiest when he was riding. And that's how he died, happy, fulfilled and at the top of his game. So we congratulate him.
Jason didn't want any services. His memory is being celebrated by friends and relatives around the world. Please raise your glass and make a toast to Jason's life. We are sure that Jason is laughing in Valhalla with his Viking brothers and ancestors. Jason Bentley's life mattered to so many. Please keep him in your heart. Gooa nott,Jay Redwolf. SKAL! Til Vahalla!
Please be cautious around all bikers, either motorized or pedaled. They are all important to someone.
