Remembering Jeannette Versace: A life filled with Song and Family Tucson Arizona-With hearts full of love and melody, we announce the passing of Jeannette Versace, affectionately known as Jenny, on January 7, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. Born in Den Hague, The Netherlands, on July 31st, 1937, Jenny’s life was woven with the threads of family, music and a zest for life.
Jenny’s love for music blossomed at a young age. She honed her vocal skills and at the tender age of 19 this passion grew onto a professional singing career, with Jenny gracing the stage for three years as part of a popular Dutch Band.
A Love Story Forged in Song
In 1960 love found Jenny and Anthony M Versace. They tied the knot in Den Hague, The Netherlands, embarking on a journey together that would bring them to Poughkeepsie, New York, Colorado and the warmth of Tucson, Arizona. Throughout their life together, music remained a constant companion. Often singing along with her daughters, Denise and Lauri, in the car, Jenny’s voice filled the air with joy and warmth.
A Devoted Mother and Grandmother
Jenny’s greatest source of pride and happiness was her family. She was a devoted mother to daughters Denise and Lauri, showering them with unwavering love and support. Her role as a grandmother to Jasper, Travis and Alaina brought her immense joy.
A Life Embraced
Beyond the melody of her life, Jenny embraced a multitude of interests. She loved travel, the Arts, and Immersing herself in new cultures and landscapes. Curling up with a good book or losing herself in the beauty of nature and animal documentaries were her other pastimes. Jenny's out going nature and genuine warmth drew her to people, and she particularly enjoyed the camaraderie of The Tucson Dutch Club.
A Legacy of Love and Laughter
While Jenny’s physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit continues to resonate in the hearts of those who loved her. Her legacy is one of love and a deep appreciation of the joys of life.
A Celebration of Life
A celebration of Jenny’s life will take place in her beloved The Netherlands, it will be hosted by her niece Karen and her husband Hans Beckers of Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Family and friends will meet to scatter Jenny's ashes in the North Sea.
