Joseph Raposa Jr. passed away on October 28th, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona. Born on May 12th, 1949 to Joseph Raposa Sr., and Clair Bette (St. Pierre) Raposa. He graduated from Fitchburg High School, Class of 1967, and Mount Wachusett Community College in 1969.
During the late 1960’s and early 70’s, he travelled the United States writing his unique style of poetry. He spent time with the great poets of The Beat Generation. He also loved rock and roll and folk music. He was an avid and knowledgeable fan of all New England sports.
Joseph leaves his wife of 44 years, Eugenie “Gina” (Smith) Raposa, three sons, Joseph A. Raposa, James N. Raposa and Frank P. Raposa. He also leaves six siblings, Susan Raposa, Sally Dickinson, Marilou Raposa, John Raposa, Jane Raposa and James Raposa.
Joseph retired from Raytheon in 1999 as an environmental control specialist. He also worked for the cities of Leominster and Lowell.
Joseph cared deeply for his fellow humankind, especially the disadvantaged. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Casa Alitas Program, aid to migrant families, at casaalitas.org
