Juan “John” Icidro Barreras, 86, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on August 24, 2024, after a battle with cancer. His journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness, love, and faith.
John was born in Tucumcari, New Mexico in 1938 to Juan Icidro Barreras, Sr. and Rafelita Barreras. After graduating from Tucumcari High School in 1956 he joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Senior Airman. He retired from American National Insurance in 2004 after 43 years and had a second retirement from H&R Block in April 2024 after 20 years.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Alice Barreras; his daughter, Yvonne Muñoz; his grandchildren, Joseph Muñoz, Monique Conway (Kyle Conway), and Andrew Muñoz; and his great-grandchildren, Elijah Muñoz, Isaac Muñoz, and Case Conway.
Service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Most Holy Trinity Parish, 1300 N Greasewood Rd., Tucson, Arizona 85745. on, all are welcome.
