Kayleen Marie Padilla

July 4, 1991 — January 1, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, auntie, niece, cousin and friend, Kayleen Marie Padilla, age 29, known fondly to family and friends as “Kay” or “KK”, on January 1, 2021 in Glendale, AZ.
Born and raised in Silver City, NM, Kayleen attended Cobre High School, where she played softball and was an accomplished percussionist. Kay achieved a degree in physical therapy shortly after high school. She was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Fisher Industries working on the US border wall near Yuma. She was also enrolled at Phoenix Electrical JATC working towards obtaining an electrical apprenticeship.
Kay’s biggest joys were spending time with her much-loved son, Romio, watching movies, playing football, enjoying street tacos together, or the simple joy of hanging out with her mother, sisters and family, who she adored, especially having her toenails painted by her mom. Kayleen loved her long talks and visits with her Auntie Kathy whom she admired very much. KK was a talented softball player, who enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking, going for drives, listening to all types of music, especially oldies, dancing, spending time at the beach and looked forward to traveling the world. Kayleen was kind, loving, giving, and genuinely cared about the welfare of others and frequently donated to those in need. We will miss your beautiful smile, amazing laugh and great personality.
Kayleen was born to Olivia S. Harris and Barney C. Padilla. She is survived by her precious son, Romio S. Torres of AZ; mother, Olivia S. Harris (Tracy) of AZ, forever remembered by her two sisters, Jocelyn Sias (Anna De La O) and nephew, Xavier Cuevas of AZ and Emily Padilla (Frankie Legarda) and niece, Azelia Cortez of NM; Grandfather, Gilbert A. Sias, Sr., of Ruidoso; Grandmother, Mary C. Padilla of Hurley; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Father, Barney C. Padilla; Grandmother, Delia V. Sias, and Grandfather, Leo G. Padilla, Sr.

A Prayer Service will be held at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 204 Cortez Avenue, Hurley, NM with Rev. Francisco Diaz officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Hurley Cemetery. Dates and time will be posted in the Silver City Sun News.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the charity of your choice.

“We will forever lovingly carry your memory in our hearts”.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
