Larisa Emanuilovna Redina led a remarkable life of resilience, dedication, and love. Born in Uzbekistan on August 4, 1932, Larisa’s journey led her around the world, shaping her into the graceful and compassionate woman she became. In 1954, she earned her Master’s in Russian Language and Literature from Moscow Humanitarian University. For nearly four decades, she devoted herself to being an educator, influencing countless lives with her knowledge, wisdom, and heart. She became a beloved mother of two and a cherished wife to a former military officer and amateur photographer, Yuriy Shakhov, who passed away in 1995.
In 1997, Larisa embarked on a voyage to a new world and immigrated to the United States. A lifelong learner and lover of language, she took on the challenge of learning English at the age of 65. Larisa’s warmth and welcoming nature were understood across all languages, and she made a friend in everyone she met. Because of her, three generations live on in America, spread throughout Arizona and California. Her influence planted a seed, and now a whole forest grows.
Larisa's legacy lives on through her two daughters, Elena and Svetlana, and son-in-law Yuriy, who carry forward her values and teachings. Additionally, she leaves behind a cherished legacy in her three grandchildren, Alexander, Irina, and Marina, and her three great-grandchildren, Lily, Kyler, and Wyatt. Their lives are a testament to Larisa’s enduring impact, a reflection of the love and wisdom she shared throughout her life.
