Lindsay (Layne) Adkins, 33, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 14, 2022. Lindsay was born in Belleville, Illinois on November 14, 1988, to Linda and Ansel Adkins. She graduated BTHS East and attended SWIC for college.
Lindsay loved her family, her dog Lexi, singing, playing the guitar, collecting hats, and going to pride events and concerts. In school Lindsay participated in band and track.
Lindsay was always such a sweet, loving person with a heart of gold. She could cheer anyone up with her beautiful smile and bright eyes. Lindsay had a huge love of animals and would take care of and cuddle any she came across. She had many sweet and funny nicknames such as Weakers and Rainbow Batman.
Lindsay was preceded in death by parental grandmother Ethel (Joe) Donnelly, paternal grandfather Andy Adkins, and maternal grandparents Jack and Betty Justice.
Surviving are son, Joel; daughter, Harmony; mother, Linda (Robert) Cordes of Belleville, IL; father, Ansel (Margot) Adkins of Big Piney, MO; sisters, Beth (Marla) Joly of Mesa, AZ, Sheri (Scott) Boothe of Freeburg, IL, Chrisie (Aaron) Klemme of Columbia, IL; brother, (and childhood partner in crime) Micah (Shannon) Adkins of St. Louis, MO; wife, Dianne (Campbell) Adkins of Tucson, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is extremely grateful for the wonderful caring staff and end of life team at St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson, AZ. The family is very proud of the fact that Lindsay registered as an organ donor and was able to help others at a new chance of life.
