Manuela M. Valdiviezo

Manuela M. Valdiviezo, 92, or Lordsburg, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 05, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born on December 29, 1930 in Gila, New Mexico to Francisco and Lucia Maldonado.
Manuela is survived by her children: Stella Rosales, Margaret Griego, Felix Valdiviezo Jr. and his spouse Debbie, Patricia Trujillo, as well as her 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Vasquez, Johnny Maldonado (Margaret) and Christina Jaramillo (Joe).

Manuela was preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Felix Valdiviezo, her son Ramon Valdiviezo, her father Francisco Maldonado, her mother Lucia Maldonado, her brother Luis Maldonado, her brother Severo Maldonado, her brother Aurelio Maldonado, and her sister Rosa Maldonado Roberts.

Manuela will be remembered for her vibrant personality and her many interests. She had a passion for cooking and took great joy in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful flower garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her beloved plants. Manuela was also an avid reader and found solace in the pages of her favorite books.
Throughout her life, Manuela dedicated herself to her career in food service at Lordsburg New Mexico Schools. Her commitment and hard work were evident as she nourished and cared for the students she served.

Manuela’s strong Catholic faith was an integral part of her life. She found comfort and guidance in her worship at the Catholic Church.

Manuela M. Valdiviezo will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

A memorial mass will be held to honor Manuela’s life and celebrate her lasting impact. It takes place September 23, 2023 at 12pm at St. Joseph’s Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd., Tucson AZ.
