Marietta Marshall Marcin
August 4, 1932 — January 10, 2023
Marietta Marshall Marcin passed in her sleep on Dec 27, 2022. She was 90 years old, and surrounded by family including her daughter, Marietta 3D, in the home of her caregiver, La Toya Boatley.
She overcame deafness to be Valedictorian of her Chicago high school, graduating Cum Laude from University of Wisconsin, Madison, where her work on the Daily Cardinal kick-started a long career in freelance journalism. She is best known for her children’s book “A Zoo in her Bed” and “How to Grow and Brew Herbal Teas”
She will be interred in Door Co, Wis. With her husband of 23 years, Jules Steinberg (d. 2010) They leave behind two children, three grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
