Mark Elbert Hamblin was born, along with his twin sister, Marcia, in Farmington, New Mexico, Aug 2, 1960 to loving parents Nila and Elbert. The first of ten siblings, Mark was raised on a dairy farm where he soon learned the importance of hard work and sacrifice for his family. Upon graduation from High School, Mark attended New Mexico State University where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business.
In 1986 he moved to Tucson where he began his career with Pima County, retiring in 2019 as the Chief Administrator for the Pima County Public Defender’s Office. Upon retirement, Mark continued his friendships and maintained close contact with many past co-workers along with many in the LBGTQ community. Mark always welcomed those of any orientation into his home and often provided a variety of assistance to those in need. Throughout his life he adored all his family, especially his numerous nieces and nephews whom we suspect he bribed into calling him the favorite uncle. He was at home in the outdoors going fishing many times in Colorado and camping in the Rocky Mountains that he so loved.
Mark is survived by his mother, Nila; siblings, Marcia James (Dwight), Michael (Misty), Darnell (Andrea), Steven (Julianne), Allen (Melanie), and Laura Brown (Daniel). He was preceded in death by his father Elbert; brothers, Garth, Dwain and sister, Julie.
