Richard was born in New York City, son of Rae and Albert R. Fintzy. He grew up in the Bronx, NY.
In 1957 he was awarded a BS from NYU's School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance; and in Oct. 1958 he received an MS in Business from Colombia University. He earned his CPA in May, 1962.
Richard then worked as a Certified Public Accountant for Schenley Industries, Chase Manhattan Bank and RCA before branching out as a self-employed tax consultant and tax preparer for individuals and small corporations. He maintained this solo practice until his final retirement in 2011.
Richard married Nancy Grosick Aro in September, 1978. They lived in Short Hills NJ, and worked in the New York are until Nancy retired from Chase Manhattan Bank in 2002. Then they relocated to Tucson, AZ. Here they enjoyed the desert climate and extensive traveling while Richard slowly wound down his accounting practice. Recently they stayed in AZ, as Richard suffered from multiple strokes.
In addition to Nancy, his wife of 41 years, Richard is survived by his brother, Stanley (Betty Ann) and his niece and nephew Samantha Avery (Matt) and Michael (Danielle); as well as by his sister-in-law Cheryl Kilbert and her daughters Louise Kilbert Smith (Ray) and Shari Stover (Dave). Richard was known for his compassion and generosity to his many friends and relatives. He will be missed!
