Richard Joseph Giulini, age 79 passed away on November 8, 2022 peacefully in his sleep at his assisted living home in Tucson, Arizona formerly of Mahwah, New Jersey. Richie was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on January 9, 1943 to Charles and Catherine Giulini and graduated from Emerson High School in Union City, New Jersey. After high school Richie proudly served in the New Jersey Air National Guard as an airplane mechanic.
Upon discharge from the military he was a proud member of Heat and Frost Insulators Local 12 and later started his own business, Capital Insulation. While attending classes at Hunter College Richie met his wife Josephine and they would spend 48 years married together raising three children along with multiple cats and dogs whom they loved like family. Richie was a devoted husband and caretaker to Josephine especially in her later years as her health declined.
Richie was an avid hunter, gun collector, fisherman and car enthusiast. He also loved his afternoons spent at Monroe-Chester Sportsmen’s Club, serving as their president for a period of time. Richie also could be found cheering on his children and grandchildren from the bleachers or sideline in whatever athletic contest they were playing at the time. Dad loved sharing a cold beer and never missed an opportunity to try a new hot dog truck.
He was predeceased by his parents, wife Josephine and brother Charles.
Richie is survived by his three children: Grace of Chester, New York, Christopher (Latisha) of Tucson, Arizona and Lorraine (Marta) of Cornwall, New York. In addition he is survived by his seven grandchildren: Kevin, Andrew, Angela, Claire, Madelyn, Mary Katherine and Daniel and his beloved dog Hershey.
Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Mahwah, November 26th at 10am. The family will receive guests beginning at 9am. Repass to follow at Brady's at the Station in Ramsey, NJ. All are welcome.
