Rita Graves, 73, died July 27, 2024 at the Tucson Medical Center’s, Peppi’s House in Tucson, Arizona after a long illness.
Rita was born August 9, 1950 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Rocco and Margaret Palumbo. She married Kenneth Graves on December 20, 1980. After marriage, she spent the next fourteen years taking care of the wives and children of officers, NCOs, and enlisted men assigned to her husband’s various commands in the Army. After the Army, she continued to do the same for the employees that worked for her husband.
Well-traveled, Rita lived at times in the Philippine Islands, Germany, and seven states across the U.S., and toured Italy, Yugoslavia, and most of Germany. In her spare time, she sewed, quilted, and cared for/loved her horses, dogs, and cats.
Rita was one of most caring people you could ever meet, and helped many military families with her service. She will be sorely missed.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth and her brother, Russ Palumbo.
Memorial service, 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Sensible Cremation and Funerals, 109 West Grant Road, Tucson, Arizona.
