After retiring from the Army, Robert moved his family back to Ajo. Arizona. He was employed by Phelps Dodge as a Shovel Operator. In 1985 he permanently moved his family to Tucson, Arizona, where he was employed with Catholic Community Services and Tucson Public Libraries. Tucson is where he has lived the remainder of his time. He took great pride in talking about his military adventures especially when he commanded his Tank Brigades. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He spent his days making puzzles and model crafts, word searches, lottery scratch tickets, as well as watching Star Wars and Jurassic Park. He was a kind, loving, gentle and generous person with a heart of gold. He awaited to be reunited again with his beloved pet Betty Boop. He took immense pride in being able to travel and live with his family around the world.
He is loved and will be missed.
