Robert M. Scott Sr., affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in his final days. Born on February 23rd, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, Bob's life was a testament to hard work, unwavering faith, and a deep love for his family.
After graduating from Chicago Vocational High School in 1945, Bob served his country with honor in the US Army, 46th Engineer Construction Battalion, from 1945 to 1946. In 1951, he found his forever partner in Lillian June Navin, marrying her in Lombard, Illinois, and embarking on a journey of love that would last until her passing in 2018.
Bob's career as a field service engineer with White Cap Company took him and his family across the country, from Chicago to Rochester, New York, and finally to Pleasanton, California. Upon retirement in 1988, Bob and Lillian sought the warmth and sunshine of Redding, California, before settling in Prescott Valley, Arizona.
Throughout his life, Bob nurtured a close network of friends, many dating back to his Chicago days and church communities across Illinois, New York, California, and Arizona. He was a pillar of his church, actively participating in Sunday school, summer camps, youth groups, and offering his time wherever it was needed.
Beyond his dedication to faith and community, Bob was known for his unwavering work ethic, which he instilled in his children. He was a man of integrity, leading by example and teaching the importance of love and compassion.
Bob leaves behind a loving legacy, including his children Sandy Lake, Robert Jr., Doug (Gina) Scott, and Laura (Jerry) Guevara; family friend Mike Shaffer; eight cherished grandchildren; and a growing family of great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Christina Scott, father, Hamilton Scott, sister, Shirley Rogers, daughter-in-law, Agnessa Scott, son-in-law, Pat Lake, and his beloved wife, Lillian (Momma Cookie).
Bob will be laid to rest at Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey, Arizona. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends, who will remember his kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to his faith and loved ones.
