Roger Brian Moss, 83, of Tucson, AZ, died July 22, 2023.
Roger was born in Akron, Ohio, in August 1939. He was a graduate of Central High School and later attended both The University of Akron and Kent State University, obtaining his degrees to teach English. His teachings touched the lives of prisoners in California prison systems and Tehran University students in Iran. In his retirement years, he worked for the Tucson Local School district, driving buses for elementary school kids.
Roger carried a strong belief and passion for education. He was a talented mechanic working on Mercedes Benz vehicles for decades. His affection for dogs and the joy they brought him was evident in his extended family of White German Shepherds. He had a gift of understanding them and fostering a true bond, and they understood and loved him in return.
Roger was authentic, a true character. He will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle voice, and his willingness to help and serve others.
He is preceded in death by his mother Myra Nell Moss (Tippett), Father Bethel E. Moss, brothers Norman and Tim, wife Betty, and his friend and former wife Dawn Moss.
Roger is survived by his brother Gary Moss (Becky), his many nieces and nephews, his stepdaughters, close classmates, and his dear friend Jim Schulmeyer.
