With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Steven G. Boehme, affectionately known as Steve, on January 21st, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on June 27th, 1949, Steve lived a life rich in family, friendship, and a constant thirst for adventure.
He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, where he built a solid foundation for a meaningful life. For 34.9 years, Steve wore many hats at Dana Corporation, rising to the position of Leadman. Even after retirement in 2003, he continued to share his expertise as a consultant for two years.
In 1988, Steve's life took a joyous turn when he married Cathy in Las Vegas. Together, they navigated life's highways and byways, always eager to explore new landscapes and deepen their connection.
Steve wasn't one for idle hands. He possessed an insatiable curiosity about the world around him, both inside and outside his garden. He was the neighborhood’s unofficial watch, keeping a keen eye and offering a friendly wave or helpful word.
When the open road beckoned, Steve answered on two wheels. His motorcycle journeys took him across state lines, from the rocky coast of Maine to the soaring heights of Colorado, the sun-drenched deserts of New Mexico, and the lush greens of Mississippi.
For two decades, Birchwood, Wisconsin, held a special place in Steve's heart. Every summer, he'd trade his gardening gloves for fishing tackle, casting lines and forging memories with loved ones on the glistening waters.
Steve's legacy lives on in the hearts of his beloved family: daughters Crystal (Daniel) McGregor and Laura, son Steven, and stepson Jason (Heather) Carpenter. His grandchildren, Lauren, Hunter, Tyler, Zavian, Alliyah, Anabelle, and Lilly will forever cherish the stories of his adventurous spirit and unwavering love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Betty Boehme, brother David Boehme, sister Debbie Blasco, grandson Davin Kizer, and grandparents Albert and Anna Boehme, and George and Reva Kizer.
While Steve's physical journey has ended, his spirit continues to bloom in the lives he touched. His unwavering curiosity, adventurous spirit, and deep love for family and friends remain a testament to a life well-lived.
Rest in peace, Steve. May your memory be a garden brimming with love, laughter, and the sweet whispers of the wind through ever-curious leaves.
