Tammy Lynn Hellyer

Tammy Lynn Hellyer, 59 of Corry, Pennsylvania sadly passed away after a short illness on May 19, 2023, at Banner University Medical Center while on vacation in Tucson, Arizona.

She was born on July 5th, 1963 in Union City Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Ervin “Sonny” and Barbara (Tinko) Foster. Tammy grew up in Corry, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Corry Area High School in 1981.

After graduating high school Tammy met and married the love of her life Stanley on June 20th, 1992, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Corry, Pennsylvania. They were happily married for 30 years and had two children, Stanley Hellyer Jr. and Michelle Capela.

Throughout the years, Tammy worked for various places including a Certified Nurses Aide with Medical Staffing Network, a waitress at Sugar & Spice in Waterford, Tonnard Manufacturing, and currently with Corry Manufacturing Company as a punch press operator for the past five years. Tammy was a member at the Corry VFW, the ladies Auxiliary at Corry American Legion, Corry Central Labor Club, a life member at Moose International and a member at Corry’s North Hills golf course.

Tammy had many hobbies that she loved but her favorite hobby was to play golf with her husband and friends. Together they spent many happy hours on the golf course. Tammy also loved to read, be outdoors, go hunting, bowling, camping, watching NASCAR and traveling to Florida and Arizona. Tammy was a social butterfly, and those who knew her well, knew that she was a firecracker! It didn’t matter where she went, she made friends with everyone around her and welcomed them all. She had a heart full of love that she wanted to share with the world.

In addition to her parents, Tammy was preceded in death by her in laws Lewis D. Hellyer Jr. and Sally M. (Berkhous) Hellyer.

Tammy is survived by her husband Stanley Hellyer Sr of Corry, PA, her son Stanley Hellyer Jr and girlfriend Samantha Rickard of Fairview, PA, her daughter Michelle Capela and husband David of Tucson, AZ, her brother Jon Foster and wife Becky of Corry, PA, and her four grandchildren, Braxtyn, Bryce, Zoey and Wesley.

Tammy will be missed tremendously by many.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Faith Church, 13444 W. Washington St. Corry, PA on Monday, June 5th, 2023 at 10am with Services at 11am. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the Memorial Service, at Corry American Legion, 1460 Sciota Rd. Corry, PA.
