Bill enjoyed cowboy action competitions in his free time. He was also an avid motorcyclist, making the trip to Sturgis, South Dakota two times, one with one of his best friends, the late Bill Stevens. He also spent much of his retirement babysitting his 7 grandchildren, who called him “Pop”.
In 2015, Bill moved back to Tucson, Arizona, where he reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Cindy McMonigal. He loved the desert, especially the Saguaro cactus. Bill and Cindy lived happily together until his death.
